Nirmala Juice was founded in 2015 by a young and bubbly entrepreneur, Motshabi Hlatshaneni (centre in image), who is also lovingly known as simply ‘Mo’. After having had spent some time working in the hospitality industry across the United States, Mo experienced first-hand how the cold pressed juicing phenomena could heal and transform a person’s health and lifestyle.
Two years before that, on her return home in 2013, she could not find any cold pressed juices on offer especially to her taste (bummer, right?). Her frustration with lack of cold pressed juices pushed her to investigate deeper into this blooming cold pressed juicing idea.
Much to the amazement (and confusion) of her family, her home kitchen began to be used as her “juicing experiments lab” where she started spending a lot of time developing new juice flavours and recipes for herself. Later, she invited her family and friends who would join in as her “quality and taste judges”.
Most flavours were a hit and some were slightly less of a hit from the feedback she got from her budding clients and her trusted “judges”. Nevertheless, she continued to improve her pure cold pressed juices until she had a collection of undeniable hits (and they still are to this day).
Before she knew it, family and friends started ordering daily juices for themselves. Then word of mouth started spreading and the juice orders started coming in, in multitudes, from other people outside her circle. Mo decided to call them ‘Nirmala’ juices, which means PURE in an ancient Indian language called Sanskrit. The rest, as they say, is history.
